The latest News

Hey there,
it is almost a month ago, when I was in Bali and Singapore with Emanuela. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed it a lot. Unfortunately, as you all may have seen it, I haven't started with writing about it. Well, that's because a lot was happening in the meantime. As soon as we got back from Bali I made up my mind and changed the topic for my final thesis. It was more a coincidence that I got into an international research project analysing the policy reversal of nuclear energy in Europe. Since the oil prices went up so high many of the European countries thought about changing their policy about nuclear energy and thought about investing in new projects. My part is it to analyse the attitudes of the voters towards nuclear energy in Switzerland. I'll have to make some statistical analyses as well as some content analyses of daily newspapers for a specific time.
But for now I have to read a lot of literature about public opinion and nuclear energy and write the concept of it. This will take some time, of course. On the other side, I won't have so much time for writing it. The paper should or has to be done till the middle of February 2009.
So, I better get going and start reading again...
Hear or see you soon,
see ya A*

Bowling with friends on easter saturday

Last saturday at the easter weekend, I went bowling with some friends in Dielsdorf (ZH). Nadine, Färe, Markus, Maria and I met in the huge bowling hall which has one specialty: fluorescent light. That was really funny, but have a look at the pictures: Additionally, the whole hall is decorated according to the theme Australia. Looks really good. Well, at the beginning everybody played so bad, that it wasn't worth counting. Nadine had a special technique: the bowling ball was almost out of the game but made a huge curve and was back on the bowling lane.
The longer the game, the better became Maria. For a long time, she was the only one who had a strike. It seemed that the bowling pins didn't like us and never felt down. We all got better, even Markus, who became really good ;-) However, it was a good occasion to meet and having fun for that evening. I am aware, that the pictures aren't that good quality and even the smile is lightning, but anyway, who cares. I am sure, will be there soon again.

Dinner with the volleyball team

I wasn't really home when we already had our final dinner/sittning in the volleyball season. It is the occasion where most of the members come together and talk about the last season and their plans for the future. But before talking, we had a huge spaghetti buffet with three or four delicious sauces. Christine was the hostess of the party and she was responsible for all the food, but only because she didn't want to let us help:-)
After four hours of talking, eating and drinking it was time to go home. Unfortunately, some girls told us, that they have to leave the team because of physical problems and moving away. However, it was a good time with all of them. We will see us anyway.

LIZ-Topic: the big thing that bothers me

Ok, I know, it sounds boaring, cause I tell everyone the same stuff. But this is the one thing that bothers me right now. Finding a topic for my last big paper (70-100 pages) is not easy at all. So, please be kind with me, even when I am a bit in a bad mood. It has nothing to do with you guys!
Luckyly, most of my friends are hanging in the same process. So I'm in good company, but this doesn't solve the problem at all.
However, I wish you all a happy Easter.
yours, a*

Going to the Zoo

I've recently been to the zoo in Zürich and had the opportunity to touch a snake. It is a strange feeling. The skin is dry and not wet and not slippery at all.

Going out with the girls

I definetely miss the party life with some special people like Alex, Valérie and Viktoria, just to announce some of them, but party life in Switzerland with my old friends is also cool. We've been at the "Kettenbrücke" in Aarau, the capitol city of the county Aargau. Normally, nothing special is happening in that town, but once a while there is the "Ü25" party. This means entrance only for those who are over 25 or younger good looking girls...:-) Camilla (SWE), Doreen (GER), Maria, me and Monnette (IR) in the front row had a great night with no boys!! Girls night! Doreen with the Cardinal beer in her hand, to dangerous!

Nadine's Birthdayparty: 30.Januar 2008

On the 2nd of february I was invited for Nadines 25th birthday party. Celebrating the 25th birthday is a big thing in Switzerland and the birthday child has to listen to a lot of mean jokes ;-)
However, it was a good occasion to see friends I haven't seen for a long time and especially to see Nadine and her husband Färe again. After talking on skype all nights long, it was good to see them alive and happy. This is Nadine on the left side.
On the right sight are Filippo and Färe, both are so funny and we had a great evening. Two other friends of mine, Janine and Sasha were also there. Don't worry, Janine wasn't stoned but just to funny that night. We all laughed a lot and had a really good night and party. Here is a better picture of janine and me.
